1-on-1 Physical Therapy & Personal Training

Peak Physio offers a modern blend of physical rehabilitation and performance fitness that goes beyond the constraints of traditional Physical Therapy clinics and gyms. Whether you’re a developing athlete, working long hours at a desk, or feeling the effects of aging, through a unique combination of Physical Therapy and Personal Training we will treat your injury, optimize your performance, and help you maximize longevity.

Reach Your Peak …

And Stay There.

Peak Physio was founded to provide a space where one can reach their peak physical ability no matter their starting point or current condition. We live in a world of reactionary medicine that treats health as an afterthought until problems arise. This results in worse injury, longer time away from work/activity, and higher recovery costs. We aim to fix this by providing 1-on-1 sessions with a professional in the worlds of both medicine and fitness. By combining physical therapy and personal training you can expect to not only reach your peak, but stay there for years to come.

Meet Your Peak Professional

Hi, I’m Julian, a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) and Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with 10 years of experience serving the San Francisco community. Originally from Monterey Bay, I earned my undergraduate degree in Exercise Biology at UC Davis and my DPT from Massachusetts General Hospital IHP in Boston, ranked #1 Hospital and #2 DPT program in the US during my studies.

When I’m not working with clients, you’ll find me out exploring the area with my wife Sara and doggo, Scout. I also play competitive soccer and alternate between running and cycling throughout the year. My goal is to remain active throughout my lifetime and maintain healthy habits to avoid disability and disease.

Whether you’re seeking to recover from an injury, enhance performance, or just want to improve your overall well-being, please do not hesitate to reach out. I look forward to helping in any way that I can and promise we’ll have fun along the way!

What People Are Saying

  • I could not recommend Julian more highly. In May of 2022, I came to Julian unable to bare weight on or bend my knee after a skiing accident. Just a few months later, I was hiking 5 miles in a day with a 50 lb pack on my back. A few months after that, I was back skiing with my knee feeling as good as ever. Julian not only healed my knee, but he equipped me with the tools necessary to maintain my strength and mobility long term. I never felt rushed in our appointments. He always listened patiently, and gave great advice and pointers, which is something I never felt during my time in orthopedic care. I hope I never need his help again, but if I do, I know I will be in good hands at Peak Physio.

  • Julian helped me rehab a frustrating leg overuse injury with less than 2 months before my first marathon. During my month of PT, Julian taught me how to manage my training loads, oversaw my exercises, and gave me recommendations for what home equipment to buy should injuries persist. I was able to finish the Avenue of the Giants marathon last year and appreciate Julian's professionalism! He makes sure his clients leave his care with more tools and knowledge to prevent further injuries.

  • Julian absolutely transformed my approach to exercise, PT, and even my own body! I am a runner/triathlete with chronic pains and injuries, a history of PT that didn't move the needle, and a skepticism that I would ever be able to use my body the way I wanted. From day 1, Julian took a holistic approach, helping me strengthen by introducing me to lifting. He basically served as my therapist when I would come in discouraged from pain, guiding me on when pain was a huge problem that would derail my progress versus when it was just a signal to dial back a bit but keep moving. Now when I feel pain I don't panic, and I don't lose months of exercise and happiness because of tweaks and aches. I'm running at almost my goal milage within ~6 months of working with Julian and, an even better gift, have a healthier attitude toward my body.

  • I worked with Julian for over a year on lower back pain and found his approach to be holistic and effective. He doesn't just do hands-on work and strength training but will have extensive conversations with you about your goals, life style choices, and effective strategies for a pain-free day-to-day.

  • Highly recommend Julian for any PT needs. His attention, care, and positive attitude made all the difference in my journey through not just one but two major recoveries - first a broken scapula from skateboarding then working through long-term knee pain which finally unlocked running for me again. I'm much more active and healthy thanks to his expertise and encouragement - super grateful!

  • Julian is the absolute best. I was in a serious car accident in December 2016 that led to multiple surgeries and the rearranging of muscles in my right leg. Prior to the accident I was an ultramarathon runner. The doctors told me I would not be able to run again after all I had been through. After going to "regular" PT to get me back to being mobile I found Julian to become an athlete again. We spent a lot of time together figuring out how to get my body to create power and strength to be able to really move. I still remember the first day I asked him when he thought I would be able to run again to which he replied, "How about now?" and pushed me out the door to run down the block. There was still more work ahead but since then I have been back for other sports related issues and have recommended lots of people to him, all of whom swear by his care.
